Data Engineer (ETL)

Job Description

1. Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple data sources into Data Warehouse or Big Data platforms.
2. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts to support high-performance data processing and reporting.
3. Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance existing ETL workflows to ensure data accuracy, consistency, reliability, and system performance.
4. Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements, support data integration needs, and deliver efficient data solutions.
5. Perform data validation, root cause analysis, and issue resolution related to ETL jobs, database performance, and data quality issues.
6. Support deployment, documentation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of data integration processes and ETL standards.
7. Ensure ETL processes follow best practices for scalability, security, scheduling, logging, and error handling.
8. Participate in project planning, technical discussions, and system enhancement initiatives related to Big Data and enterprise data management.

Requirements

1. Minimum Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum 5 years of experience as an ETL Developer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
3. Strong hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools, especially Talend. Experience with other ETL tools is an advantage.
4. Strong knowledge of SQL programming, query optimization, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
5. Familiar with database and Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, MSSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms.
6. Experience handling large-scale data processing, data migration, and data integration projects.
7. Good understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, and data governance principles.
8. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
9. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight project timelines.
10. Good communication skills and experience working with cross-functional teams in enterprise environments.
